Alice Harvey

Autumn 2016 Fellow

Born and raised in London, Alice is a recent graduate from the University of Manchester with a degree in Social Anthropology. A firm believer in equality of opportunity, she has engaged in local projects aiming to improve access to public services and education. Having developed a strong interest in health communication, Alice explored how the NHS were responding to the language needs of non-English speaking migrant patients within primary care in her dissertation.

Alongside her studies, Alice has advocated the importance of the arts and humanities among students facing socio-economic disadvantage whilst volunteering with Arts Emergency Manchester. As a peer mentor for the charity Mind, Alice was involved in a community initiative focusing on improving mental wellbeing of young people living in Manchester. During her spare time, Alice enjoys running with her dog whilst listening to a good podcast (or attempting to make her own!).
