Evelyn Ofori-Kuragu

2017/18 Fellow

A proud South East Londoner, Evelyn graduated from Loughborugh University with a degree in International Relations. After graduation, she volunteered in Kenya with Balloon Ventures, a micro-finance social enterprise, working alongside local entrepreneurs to develop their business and secure investment. Since returning to the UK, Evelyn has become a founding member of the Young Africa Centre, providing personal and professional opportunities for Afro-Caribbean people aged 16 -25. Evelyn also joined the Bethnal Green Ventures (BGV) team, supporting tech for good startups and delivery of the accelerator programme. During this time, she produced online content, helped organise tech for good meetups and BGV Demo Day Spring 2017.

Her love for travelling began when she worked in Spain for a year and visited numerous countries in Africa and Europe. This experience shaped her belief that world travelling makes us better practitioners of empathy, and in turn, better agents for positive social change.
