Miriam Chapman

Autumn 2016 Fellow

Miriam recently graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Human Sciences. She first came to social action through environmental groups Friends of the Earth, and People and Planet. At university she coordinated the Oxford Student Food Cooperative and campaigned for fossil fuel divestment. Writing her dissertation on gender and student volunteering she became interested in the role volunteering has in building communities and connecting people. She is keen to explore this further through social enterprise.

Miriam has volunteered for Oxfizz, a not-for-profit providing practice interviews for students applying to Oxbridge from a range of backgrounds, and raises money for small charities at the same time. In her spare time, Miriam can be found seeking out wild swimming spots or cooking up a vegetarian feasts with friends.
