Rachel Lewis

2018 Fellow

Rachel studied Digital Film Production and has been a filmmaker for the past six years, working for a mix of NGOs and innovation agencies. Her film projects have focused on a range of subjects including life in limbo for Syrian refugee families in the Middle East; autism awareness in primary schools; social isolation and loneliness across the UK; zero waste supermarkets in Berlin; and life with epilepsy.

Rachel volunteers at the Royal Free Hospital, providing companionship for patients who have dementia. She is also a volunteer home visitor for Refugees at Home.

Her experiences while filming have made her eager to gain a much deeper understanding of the problems people are facing in the UK and keen to learn how to develop ways to deal with these challenges.
