Ruth Martin

Ruth joined Year Here to further develop an in-depth understanding of challenges faced by society and identify meaningful solutions. Ruth has investigated some of the biggest challenges faced by the UK, including youth radicalisation, gangs and sexual exploitation, homelessness, and discrimination and hate crime.

Ruth completed her PhD in political history at Cambridge University, where she assessed the protection of civil liberties and human rights in the US. Ruth has been based in London since 2013, where her roles have included working for the Equality and Human Rights Commission, the Home Affairs Select Committee, and a secondment to Oxfam.
