Verena Wimmer

2017/18 Fellow

Verena graduated from the University of Maastricht with an MSc in Economics. After living in Germany, the Netherlands and France, she moved to London to join its buzzing tech scene. Since then, she’s built a career in data analytics, helping startups grow and make better-informed decisions. Verena now hopes to apply her tech skills to social issues. Outside of work, Verena has engaged in various community projects. She volunteered at a refugee camp in Munich, in a home for older people, and currently works for a charity that fights food waste and food poverty in London. Verena believes in the importance of knowledge sharing. She mentored female students who want to pursue a career in data at UCL. She founded a meetup where experts share data stories with a non-expert audience, making analytics more accessible.

If not behind her screen, you will find Verena climbing a mountain, preferably in the Alps.
