A year to test and build solutions to some of society's toughest problems.
Alex was a 2017 Fellow. She worked at Langdon Park School as part of her frontline placement and advised East Thames Housing Association (now part of L&Q) on the regeneration of the Gascoigne Estate as part of her consulting project. Her consulting work also helped steer the development of Barking & Dagenham Renew, a new charity awarding funds to residents of Barking and Dagenham. She was mentored by Anna Hyde.
Alex joined Year Here to pursue her curiosity in social entrepreneurship and her dreams of building her own socially-minded business. Prior to Year Here, Alex worked in London for a technology startup aiming to help kids stay safe online. She also spent two years exploring China and learning Mandarin. Alex has a degree in Business and Management from Griffith University, specialising in inter-cultural management and Asian cultures.
