Alex Cawthron

2020/21 Fellow

Alex has spent the last three years working in education with children across a range of ages and backgrounds. As a Teach First ambassador, she has nurtured a love of the pastoral element of teaching worked with children living in deprived areas of London.

With a particular interest in mental health, Alex volunteered as a face-to-face listener for adults experiencing suicidal feelings, through a charity called The Listening Place. She is now determined that it is time for drastic change in public mental health care provision. Alex is especially interested in how we can improve access to cognitive behavioural therapy at a time when mental health inequality has been severely impacted by the global pandemic.
