Alex grew up in London and has a degree in History from the University of Nottingham and a Masters in Contemporary Performance from the University of London. He worked at Live Art Development Agency where he was curator of digital and special projects with partners including Tate Modern, Google Arts Culture, the British Library and the Hull City of Culture.
As an artist and curator, Alex has worked with many artists marginalised because of their identities and practices. The pandemic served as a calling for him to work more directly with other people experiencing inequality and explore the intersections between art and social innovation.
Alex is especially interested in working with LGBTQ+ youth and supporting them to raise their voices in a society that still discriminates based on gender and sexuality.
Alex hosts the queer club night Buttmitzvah and his short, comedic film Personal Shopping, premiered in 2020.
