Amina Ahmad

2020/21 Fellow

A non-executive director at The Social Investment Business, Amina previously created innovation accelerators for banks and co-founded her own platform in the US. Returning to London, Amina works with both corporate and startup clients on their products and commercial operations. Recognised as a top 100 woman in fintech globally, she started with technical systems before moving into structuring and deploying capital to the UK’s small business owners and influencing policy working with UK and EU regulators to stabilise and reform the banking sector. These experiences helped her learn about finance and its power over everyday lives, and the practicalities of profit with purpose models.

In her spare time Amina is studying for a Masters in Global Mental Health, increasing representation for founders and private funders, and believes ethically responsible businesses are better placed to create sustainable profits and most effectively change systems of inequality.
