Anna Alexander

2018 Fellow

Anna co-founded Split Banana, a social enterprise that delivers creative relationship and sex education programmes in schools.

Anna was a 2018 Fellow on the Year Here programme. For her frontline placement, she was based at Langdon Park School in Poplar, and delivered a consultancy project for the Makeshift Foundation.

Before Year Here, Anna graduated from The University of Edinburgh with a degree in English Literature and Religious Studies. She researched the political power of short films, produced socially conscious theatre, and enjoyed a year-long stint in production for film and television. She also volunteered at a Dutch social enterprise which provided training to individuals with mental health issues, encouraging their integration into the workplace. She has always been interested in how people’s stories are told and how best to reveal unheard narratives.
