Born in Malaysia and raised in Canada, Brian Li Han Wong is an entrepreneur, public health advocate & practitioner, and multidisciplinary researcher interested in ageing and life course, digital health, global health governance, immunisation/vaccination policy, and youth engagement. He holds an Honours degree in Biomedical Science from uOttawa, a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from LSHTM, and is concluding his doctoral studies in Cardiovascular Science at UCL.
Brian is Youth Officer for The Lancet and Financial Times Commission “Governing Health Futures 2030: Growing up in a digital world” and has previously acted as surveillance epidemiologist for Public Health England.
Brian is particularly passionate about meaningful youth engagement/empowerment in global health, which led him to found LonWHO, the UK’s first Model WHO simulation as well as UK Model WHO, an organisation that empowers students and young professionals to co-create innovative policy solutions to pressing global health challenges through immersive, experiential learning simulations.
