Carolina Neu

2019/20 Fellow

Born and raised in Colombia, Carolina is an anthropologist with a master’s in Participation, Power and Social Change from the Institute of Development Studies at Sussex University. She has researched and implemented projects regarding the relationship between the environment, agrobiodiversity and society in Colombia and Peru. Above all, she is passionate about understanding the role social organisations hold in bringing about significant social change in society.

After spending two years in Cusco, Peru, she is joining Year Here. In Peru, Carolina worked with Indigenous communities in rural development projects. There, she was able to learn the importance of balancing the spiritual, natural and human aspects of life with the aim of creating harmonious development for all humankind.

She is interested in acquiring social innovation strategies that can contribute to the construction of social enterprises and social change projects in the UK, Colombia and in the world.
