Heather Labanya

2021/22 Fellow

Heather has worked for the United Nations’ specialised agency, ILO, on inclusive entrepreneurship development and employability programmes. For MRG, she co-authored a report commissioned by UNICEF, reviewing its work with women and children from ethnic, linguistic and religious minority communities globally. Heather has worked with trafficking survivors in Greece, in youth homelessness in the UK and is a trustee of a charity hosting Poetry Competitions for young people as an advocacy tool against gender-based violence in Zimbabwe. As a lawyer, Heather has represented diverse clients and assisted on numerous complex cases in youth and adult courts.

She is passionate about inclusive social leadership that inspires positive sustainable change. Heather has a Legal Masters in Human Rights, Conflict and Justice from SOAS, University of London and is an accredited coach, mentor, facilitator and trainer.

Heather looks forward to developing and contributing to innovative initiatives generating sustainable impact for good.
