Jess Steel, OBE is a community activist and director of Jericho Road Solutions, which helps local leaders make better neighbourhoods and influences government, funders and corporates to make that easier. Her work bridges policy and practice and aims to bring practitioners into a more central role in shaping policy.
She founded the Heart of Hastings Community Land Trust, a locally owned initiative to safeguard affordable spaces for home and work by using collective social investment.
Previously, she spent six years working for Locality, and played a lead role in the Hastings Pier & White Rock Trust, which campaigned to save the iconic Hastings Pier.
