Working for the Shadow Education Secretary in the 2015 UK General Election, confirmed to Jonny the power teachers have in improving the lives of underprivileged children. After qualifying as a teacher, Jonny spent five years working in a primary school in Brixton that specialised in social, emotional and mental health. Within his second year of teaching, he became a senior teacher and later qualified as a special needs coordinator. Much of his time was spent devising bespoke action plans to support families with children at risk of school exclusion. Having just completed a master’s in Comparative Education at UCL, Jonny is eager to explore how entrepreneurship can be used to support vulnerable children and their families. Outside of education, Jonny’s two main passions in life are politics and cricket. At the weekend you usually can find him at his local park run or exploring new areas of the countryside.
