Kandia Appadoo

2021/22 Fellow

Kandia is a first-generation Mauritian British woman born and raised in Surrey.

With a background in brand and marketing, Kandia has spent the last 15 years working across different corporate sectors. She spent the last five years working for a sustainable agricultural company, building campaigns around the broken food system, like protecting farmers rights, addressing education inequality and supporting communities affected by diseases. Having worked in an industry tackling the broken food system, Kandia is keen to use her experience and knowledge to explore and learn how educational inequality links back to food waste, responsible eating and food insecurity.

After witnessing the impacts of COVID-19 and making some life-changing decisions, Kandia felt an urge to play her part in giving back and is seeking opportunities to drive change and deliver impact.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, eating, reading and listening to hip hop.
