Born and raised in the South of England, Kertrina has spent the past 6 years as an educator, with a particular passion for improving social mobility through education.
After graduating from the University of Warwick with a degree in Law, Kertrina moved to Hong Kong where she worked for a non-profit organisation teaching underprivileged children. Seeing the positive impact, Kertrina returned to the UK to work in an educational charity helping disadvantaged young people access future opportunities, whilst volunteering at a charity for looked after children in her spare time. Her determination to help young people from all backgrounds saw her complete a PGCE at the Institute of Education and work as a teacher in a primary school.
With a fuller picture of the problem, Kertrina now hopes to use the skills acquired from her various works to further address the inequality in education at a greater scale.
