Lottie Hanson-Lowe

2015/16 Fellow

Lottie co-founded Misc, an ethical clearance company providing furniture to vulnerable people.

During the programme she was placed at the North London YMCA where she developed a mental health guide for staff to help them better spot the signs of mental illness and provide emotional support. She went on to work on a project for the Greater London Authority to boost the capacity of local groups to apply for a London-wide crowdfunding programme. She was mentored by social designer Emma Southgate.

Lottie graduated from Kingston University with an interest in how design thinking can offer creative solutions to social challenges. Lottie’s work focuses on female rights, youth communities and social interaction. In her last year at Kingston University, she developed a proposal for a charitable scheme that would provide sanitary ware for homeless women through the gift-aiding of regular sanitary ware purchases.
