Maddy Ford

2017 Fellow

Maddy is an engineer, having worked on projects both in London and abroad. She has a Master’s in Civil Engineering and Construction Management. For her final year project at the University of Leeds, she researched and analysed the extent to which Millennium Development Goals relating to water and sanitation had been reached in Southern Asia.

In addition to her project work, she helped set-up two initiatives: one supporting colleagues to carry out pro-bono work, the other being a partnership with Enabling Enterprise to deliver workshops to school children. Maddy recently returned from a year away having travelled in both Central and South America, as well as spending five months volunteering with vulnerable children in Mexico. Maddy is particularly interested in the way that social enterprise can be used to tackle inequality in society and build stronger communities.

In her spare time, she can be found cooking, reading or enjoying the great outdoors.
