Ruba is the co-founder of Birdsong, an ethical online marketplace for fashion made by women’s groups.
During the 2014 programme, Ruba was placed with the YMCA North London, where she ran YMCreate, a series of art workshops and an exhibition that paired hostel residents with established local artists. She went on to work with Camden Council to import the Harlem Children’s Zone model to North London.
She is a Palestinian with Israeli citizenship and spent most of her life in Jerusalem. Ruba is also an active member of Seeds of Peace, an NGO devoted to conflict resolution and peaceful dialogue.
