Born and raised in the U.S. with an American mum and British dad, Sarah came to London in 2008 to explore her British roots. Intending to stay for six months, she fell in love with the UK and has now been here for over 11 years.
Sarah has spent the last decade working in the not-for-profit sector, predominately in high-value fundraising roles for organisations including OnePlusOne, Action for Children, The Mix and Liberty. Through working with these organisations she has become passionate about mental health, tackling inequality and human rights.
During her time as a fundraiser, she witnessed the amazing work of colleagues passionate about creating change in the UK, and the many obstacles that can get in their way. Sarah is joining Year Here to learn about more sustainable and efficient models for delivering lasting social change in the UK and beyond.
