Sergei Wicking

Sergei was born and raised in South England and graduated from The University of Birmingham in 2014.

After working in a school for a year, Sergei made the move to teach English in Spain and subsequently South America. On his return to the UK, he moved back to London to join Year Here.

Whilst working with student volunteers he became increasingly aware of the challenges that many people in London face and the creative and innovative methods on offer to tackle them. This became his motivation for starting the programme: to launch his own social enterprise.

His particular areas of interest are the UK’s restrictive education system, food education, sustainability, supporting a circular economy, and promoting sports and the arts as necessary for human wellbeing.
