Tom Murphy

2017 Fellow

Tom graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Psychology with Sociology. He was particularly interested the relationship between hearing impairment and its isolating effects, writing his dissertation, which was later published, on the topic.

Upon graduating Tom went on to manage operations for home care facility in North West London he had previously volunteered for, supporting the elderly and vulnerable within the Jewish community there. After two years, Tom went on to work in children’s mental health, supporting the delivery of accredited courses for those wishing to become child counsellors. This combination of research and frontline work has furthered Tom’s ambition to drive for social solutions in his field.

In his spare time, Tom can be found cycling, fulfilling his wanderlust and learning new crafts.
