Zahabiya Abidali

2020/21 Fellow

After spending her youth in Yorkshire, Zahabiya moved to London to earn a law degree from SOAS, University of London. After a short stint in event management, she has worked in development, policy and legal research in Sri Lanka since 2015. Her work has covered UNHRC Resolutions, military profits, environmental public-interest-litigation and wider transitional justice concerns. More recently she has focussed on assisting refugees to rebuild their lives and writing about a range of topics for an array of media outlets.

After spending years understanding the limits of policy advocacy and research, Zahabiya is committed to exploring the possibilities for social impact when embedded into business models. She is passionate about innovative solutions for social justice issues and believes entrepreneurship can provide pivotal opportunities for progress and disruption.

In her spare time, Zahabiya enjoys learning the keyboard and Arabic.
