Over the course of her career, Zoe has worked in leadership roles in tech startups, charity, social business and venture philanthropy. She led the national expansion of a food rescue charity across Australia as National Manager and then CEO. She set up the US and UK operations of two fast-growth tech companies with HQs in Australia, building strategy, culture, customer base and operational capacity/processes. As an Investment Director at Impetus she advised charity CEOs on strategy and impact, and how to make both a reality. Currently, Zoe is interim CEO at campaigning organisation 38 Degrees where she is leading the organisation through a major strategic review.
From 2015-19 Zoe was Chair of social enterprise WorkingRite – a work-based mentoring program for young people. Working closely with the Founder and CEO in that time she helped oversee a major turnaround in the fortunes of the organisation, from a threat of bankruptcy in 2016 to surpluses in 2018 and 2019. During her tenure, she built a high-performance Board and supported the leadership team with the transition to a new CEO.
She knows that business has the potential to be a hugely powerful force for social good and social change and is particularly interested in how to scale social businesses from startup in a sustainable way and dynamic approaches to strategy.
Zoe holds a BSc in Psychology from Leeds University, a Graduate Certificate in Social Impact (Class Award) from Melbourne Business School, and is close to completing an Executive MBA from Strathclyde Business School.
